SPRING
Maintenance
In early spring, rake up any debris. Use Scotts® WeedEx™ Prevent with Halts® if needed. Four weeks later, follow with Scotts® Turf Builder® Weed & Feed for a lush, green lawn. Fill in bare spots with Harmony® sod, available by the piece at your home improvement center.
Watering
Water ½-1” once a week only if it’s a dry, hot spring. Water if you notice a dark, bluish-gray color, foot printing, wilted, folded or curled leaves.
Mowing
Mow at 1-1½”.
SUMMER
Maintenance
In early summer, feed with Scotts® Turf Builder® Southern Lawn Food to strengthen the lawn, helping it withstand heat and drought conditions. It slow-releases nutrients, making it the go-to fertilizer for all grass types.
Watering
Water 1-1 1/4” once a week, early in the morning. Sandy soils, require more frequent watering about ½” every third day. A dark, bluish-gray color, foot printing, and wilted, folded or curled leaves indicate it’s time to water.
Mowing
Mow at 1½”. Mow lawn in partial shade areas at 2-2½”.
FALL/WINTER
weather, use a slow-release fertilizer like Scotts® Turf Builder® WinterGuard® Fall Lawn Food, to strengthen the lawn’s roots. It feeds the lawn consistently and is better for the environment.

Follow summer irrigation guidelines. Dormant lawn may still need to be watered in dry, warm weather. Newly planted sod should be watered.
